Mexico 2011 ~ Playa Del Carmen
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico is sooo beautiful. Lots of exotic & native animals live here. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the local zoo ~ Xcaret. This tropical zoo has free roaming parrots, and lganas everywhere! My favourite part of this experience was photographing the spotted and black Jaguar. This wild and native animal is truly mysterious. Jaguars are also a big part of the Mayan Culture. The adorable Spider Monkeys have humorous personalies. They were very active and social while I was photographing them. This allowed me to get a unique shot of their curly tail. This zoo also has a butterfly conservatory and I was able to get up close to these beautiful insects. The lizards, well they were everywhere! It wasn't hard to snap their photo. This zoo has underground caves, and aquariums to view lots of their local salt water marine life. If you ever have a chance to visit Playa Del Carmen, Mexico I strongly recommend visiting Xcaret!
Pelicans are a popular bird in Mexico, they can be found along the beaches. These were birds that I saw daily on this vacation. ~
The Metro Toronto Zoo is always a favourite place of mine to photograph animals. Luckily this zoo is so large it can house animals from all over the world.
On this visit to the zoo it was on a fairly hot, and very busy day! I found that most of the animals were just lazing around. I was able to get a close up snap shot of the Canadian Lynx's as it woke up from a nap. The Grizzly speaks for itself with its massive size! The 1KM steep hill climb from the Canadian Tundra was well worth it for these shots.
Visiting the Kangaroo exhibit is unique at this zoo because they allow you to go right into the exhibit. ~
Tobermory......
This is the most beautiful place in Ontario I have ever been! Tobermory is a biosphere which means that some plants and animals here, only live here.
Most of my photos from Tobermory are spur of the moment photos taken on nature walks around this beautiful place. ~
Kitchener/Waterloo Parks ~
These photos are taken at Victoria Park, Waterloo Park, and Bloomingdale Flats~
I love taking pet portraits. Having photos of your pets are great ways of capturing their personality, and providing photos that last forever.~
Layla & Stellar are my cats and are often subjected to photoshoots lol, but don't worry they are rewarded with lots of treats and love! Jeffery was my old cat who past away a couple of years back. While the photo of Jeffery was from taking spur of the moment pictures, this was my last session with him. I am lucky to have got at least one shot of him with my new camera. This taught me that life is precious and capture the moments while you can!
Fletcher, he's my best friends Great Dane, and he is such a beautiful dog with a big heart! He is so dedicated to his mommy and loves her sooo much! ~
Ronix & Ava are super cute puppies! They are siblings from a mix of Huskie and Australian Shepherd litter. Amazing how puppies from the same litter can look so different. Both have fun playful personalities, and boy do they love Benny Bullies! These dogs were fun to photograph! Who doesn't love puppies?
Going to the Zoo is gotta be one of my favourite places to go during the Summer.
On this visit to the zoo I was soo lucky it was a cooler day, most the animals were active and were available for viewing. I spent the whole day here photographing these animals. I walked away with some of my favourite shots to date! My top favourite's are the monkey hanging from the tree, the tiger laying on the ground, and the flamingo.
This flamingo has inspired me to do a very creative project, hopefully it can be released by the end of 2011!
The polar bears were a highlight of my visit to the zoo, this was the first summer their exhibit was reopened after construction.
The peacocks roam free in this zoo, and if your lucky you can see one and get real close to them! ~
Mexico 2009 ~ Puerto Escondido
Puerto Escondido Mexico....
This was a trip I will never forget! Mexico is such a beautiful diverse place. On this trip when my friends and I went on a fishing boat tour we were sooo fortunate to get surrounded by a school of dolphins! On this fishing tour we visited Rocka blanka (white rock) which got its name from all the pelican feces...ewwww lol
On the way back we saw some mating turtles!
On this trip my friends and I were given the opportunity to release endangered turtle babies into the ocean, they are soo cute and precious! ~
"Animals are my favourite subjects to photograph. It takes lots of patience, luck, and sometimes treats to get great animal shots.
They are so many beautiful creatures in this world, and they take beautiful, colourful photos."
~ Lisa Medeiros, Paradise Productions
While on a walk I came across a Goose nest. The mother was surprisingly tolerant of me spending a few minutes pretty close to her. I will try to follow up when the eggs have hatched to get some photos of the goslings.
Chickadee's are very fast birds, as quick as they come, their gone! Getting a photo of this Chickadee took lots of patience and sunflower seeds. I had to set up the shot before the Chickadee even landed. I'm lucky this bird was hungry!
The Butterfly Conservatory is filled with beautiful butterflies & birds. My goal was to get a photo of a blue butterfly, but I never saw one land. Later I found out that the grey butterflies with circles that look like eyes, are in fact the blue ones I was trying to photograph. ~
